EPS 

Description

Certain psychotropic medications, particularly antipsychotics, can cause extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) such as tardive dyskinesia and Parkinsonism. Specific agents are used to alleviate these motor side effects:

Dopamine Agonists: (Amantadine) – Helps reduce drug-induced movement disorders by modulating dopamine activity, particularly effective for dyskinesias and rigidity.

Anticholinergics: (Benztropine, Trihexyphenidyl) – Commonly prescribed to manage tremors, stiffness, and other Parkinsonian symptoms related to antipsychotic use.
